Acne Bacteria: The Myth And The Facts

Acne is caused primarily by internal problems and Propionibacterium or Acne bacteria play a relatively minor part in their formation. So destroying these bacteria may, at best, lessen the swelling of an existent pimple but it won’t cure you of your condition.

Acne is not just a skin problem

Practitioners of conventional medicine describe acne as a skin inflammation. This condition is caused largely by factors on the skin surface, the principal one being an excess of sebum and keratin being produced by the oil glands.

This results in blocked pores which facilitate the growth of acne bacteria causing inflammation visible as blackheads on the skin’s surface or whiteheads which are below the surface of the skin.

However, acne formation is due to a combination of various factors like overactive sebum glands, skin type, blocked pores and acne bacteria together with malfunctions inside our body which makes the skin susceptible to acne breakouts. That is why medical practitioners refer to it as a disease of the skin.

Acne is a condition, NOT a disease

That’s what I said. Don’t think of acne as a disease. Many of the illnesses prevailing in the west are not really diseases. Neither is acne. Acne is the manifestation of a deeper disease inside your body. It is one of the ways in which your body is announcing that it is in a state of imbalance. And you are not paying heed.

I would like to put you on guard so that you are not misguided into believing that acne is nothing more than a skin ailment. That is what conventional medical practitioners would like you to think but, if you do, you will treat it as only a problem of the skin when actually, the root cause of the malady lies way deeper.

What you must realize is that your acne is not a disease which has afflicted your skin. The real cause of it is turmoil in your inner balance. The protuberances on your skin are the outer sign of a much deeper malady which you MUST set right if you are to get rid of your acne and generally improve your health.

You will obviously wonder why doctors insist on labeling acne as a malfunction of the skin. The reason is that they can make more money by making you buy the worthless antibiotics and lotions.

The truth about acne bacteria

What will come as a surprise to you is that propionibacterium acnes, more commonly known as acne bacteria, which conventional medicine seeks to destroy is important to our well being. Everyone has them on their skin and they are a life form which struggle for their existence and play a great part in keeping us in good health.

Even if you don’t suffer from acne you will find that the acne bacterium is present on your skin. It has a very important role as guardian of our skin and also in ensuring the skin’s elasticity.

The secretions from our sweat and sebaceous glands are what the acne bacteria feed itself on. This is normal for everyone whether they have acne or not.

Acne bacteria do NOT cause acne and is not contagious. Obviously, as otherwise every single individual would have contracted acne since the bacteria is in all of us. Then why is it that only some unfortunate souls land up being afflicted?

The reason is that for a bout of acne to occur everything has to come together including low internal immunity to create conditions that will encourage acne to strike with all its attendant symptoms.

It is the environment which counts (the acne triangle of oil-toxins-bacteria)

Acne develops when the glands producing sebum oil are over stimulated and an excessive amount is produced. This is usually caused by excessive hormonal activity. The extra sebum oil, when it mixes with blood toxins expelled through the skin, causes acne to be formed because this mixture causes bacteria to grow and develop alarmingly, leading to pus formation and inflammation.

To get rid of acne and its recurrence you must ensure that such a condition is not allowed to develop. The acne cannot be stopped by trying to destroy the bacteria with superficial medication. This will only put a temporary halt in the proliferation of acne bacteria unless you treat the root cause.

So antibiotics which kill acne bacteria, such as benzoyl peroxide, tetracycline or monocycline are not permanent cures because they do not tackle the root cause of the acne.

What then really causes acne?

You will, by now, realize what it is that makes acne bacteria grow so drastically and what environment brings on acne. But all this is only what happens on the surface. What we have to know in order to permanently stop acne from happening is the root cause of the hormonal imbalance and the blood toxins that cause the nexus between oil, toxins and bacteria in the first place.

The combination of excessive oil production and toxin build up helps the bacteria to thrive and multiply on the skin. But within our body biological changes, nutritional deficiencies, psychological or hormonal imbalances are the culprits responsible for the acne eruptions on the skin.

To ensure that your skin remains acne free permanently you need to restore the internal balance of your system. Simultaneously, the bacteria on the surface of the skin should be maintained at the normal level so that your complexion becomes radiant once again.
